My Karrimor Cheetah 50-70

reminds me of Bumblebee
After a period of long consideration taking into account all pros and cons, I have decided to travel with this backpack: Karrimor Cheetah 50- 70. This backpack came into my ownership with a bit of drama involved. To cut a long complicated story short, NC got this backpack for RM580, and I paid him RM400 for the bag. Pretty good deal! He is getting a Deuter Air Contact Pro 50+15.

Sadly, there are not many websites or videos that I could find on the internet which provide tutorials about each and every function and/or part of this bag. Probably I could come out with a tutorial on how to fully maximize this bag after my trip. Meanwhile, I could just stick to my common sense or rely on tutorials for other brands and figure the rest out for myself.

The height of the shoulder straps could be adjusted by using the back length adjustable straps (refer to the 2nd picture from the bottom for the location of "back length adjustments'" straps). However, I couldn't "lock" the straps to its place after the adjustment. What I am trying to say is after I adjusted the straps so that the backpack will be placed lower on my back when I carry it, the piece of "board" supporting the shoulder straps moved up as well. I do not know whether the board should be static after the adjustment, or was it designed as such to be movable.Nevertheless, I am still comfortable with it.

The label which comes together with the bag looks simple yet classy with its minimal use of colours.

The model of my backpack. The weight as per its label is 2320 grams.

I am a trolley bag traveller. This will be my first time using a backpack and I believe/hope that this backpack would pretty much match me in all aspects.

Packing updates

cosas united
Security belt wallet:  NC doesn’t think it is necessary and he also feels it is not really 100% secure. He has one good point: I can’t be pulling my shirt up each time I want to use money and/or take out my passport. Anyways, using NC’s slogan of “more is better” and also in the spirit of kiasu-ness, I decided to get one. RM20 after discounted.

2000NZD
I changed 600NZD at the rate of 2.54 a few days ago. The rate for yesterday was 2.51 and I changed another 1400NZD. You do the math. We agreed that each of us should have nzd2000 with us since our plan is to buy a used car as soon as we arrived in Christchurch. Was contemplating travelling using public transport earlier on, but after consulting a few e-books on travelling around NZ, I do believe that getting a car is essential  if we are to get the best out of our trip.

Bought a pair of Teva from the same store that NC bought his. The only colour available for this model, Hurricane XLT, is altri green.  Don’t really like the color as it is hard to match most of my clothes. Bought it anyways as I am desperate for a pair of comfortable footwear and also the price is really reasonable at RM149.00

Mended my Reebok. RM19.00. A bit too pricey. Hope it will be able to last.

Had my driving licence translated to English at JPJ for RM10.00

I tried looking for jobs through www.backpackerboard.co.nz. I responded to some of the ads there but sadly no reply up till today.
